Braidwood Police Department launches new Community Policing Portal

The Braidwood Police Department has launched a new online Community Policing Portal designed to improve communication between residents and law enforcement The portal offers four services: vacation house watch, pet management, key holders, and at-risk residents.Through the vacation house watch program, residents planning to leave town may request additional property surveillance while they are away. Once registered, their property will be added to a list officers will monitor during routine patrols. Residents will receive email notifications whenever their property has been checked, including the date and time of the visit. The pet management module enables residents to register their pets and upload photographs. If a registered pet becomes lost or is found by police, officers may use the information to help reunite the animal with its owner. The Braidwood Police Department said the information will also help officers better assist residents and their pets during emergencies.Local busin
